Can you guess what I am going to be for Halloween?

Mommy is working hard making costumes for Jack and I. She says I am going to be a chicken and that confuses me because I thought chicken was a food group? When she asks me if I know what a chicken is I respond "Eat?".....apparently before it shows up as bites on my plate it is a feathered bird that lives on a farm. Am I supposed to be excited about this? Next year I think I will pick something because my mom seems to be stuck on farm animals.

First Hair Cut

Aunt Lindsay, Mommy, Jack and Elmo all came with me to get my first haircut. We went to a place called Cool Cuts. I sat in a car and it had a little TV for me to watch the movie "cars" and the lady trimmed my hair in about 5 minutes - not even enough time for me to get scared or squeamish. I look a bit more polished. Just in time too because I have picture day at school this week!

Warm Fall Days

It could not be nicer outside. The leaves are all bright yellows and oranges and the temp reaches low 70s each day! Mommy and I played in the leaves and I am spending every last second outside.

Playing Quietly

On Saturday we had the house back to ourselves after a very nice visit from Yaya and Bopee. It was a great fall day - in the 70s - and Mommy had raked up some leaves for me to play with. So I stayed busy for almost an hour by myself outside doing very important work.

Open Arms

Tonight is Yaya & Beeba's last night. This is very sad news! So to show Yaya how much I will miss her I got a running start and ran full speed into her arms over and over again.

A week off from school!

This week I get a whole week off from school!!! Jack still has to go to school so I get Yaya and Beeba all to myself until Thursday when Mommy and Jack will be home. On Monday Yaya and Beeba strollered me all the way to Barns & Noble and I played with the choo choo trains and we brought home "The Little Engine that Could". AND we got ELMO!!!! Elmo is so fantastic and I carry him around like a baby and I pat his back the way Mommy pats Jack's back and I cover him with blankets and help him go to sleep and I share my crackers with him. Then on Tuesday Aunt Lindsay came with us to Red Rocks and I went on my very first hike. It was 4 miles long! Yaya and Aunt Lindsay took turns carrying me in the back back. I loved it in there and I tickled their necks as they hiked. I wonder what we will do Wednesday!!!!

Very Busy Bee

This weekend I was very busy. I had a play date with my school friend Olivia at the park. It was really fun to see her outside of school. We played well together until she snatched my pumpkin that YaYa got me - I named it "Claire's Pumpkin" NOT Claire and OLIVIA's pumpkin.

I also went to the playground with Yaya and Beeba. We took my pumpkin and sent it down the slide and I died laughing each time. We did it again and again. Then Beeba and I found these red berries that we buried in th sand and then dug them up and then buried and then dug them up...and Beeba showed me how you can color on crocs because they are plastic. So I colored on Beeba's shoes with chalk and then on my shoes. And Mommy colored hearts on my crocs with crayon...so now my crocs are very cool and colorful.

YaYa & Bopee

Look at this fun Hop Scotch that Yaya & Beeba brought me!!! It is so fun and has a lady bug on it. YaYa and I are besties already and Bopee sure is trying. He has this little man that lives in his fingers and I am not sure how I feel about that. Bopee is going to work with Daddy so each morning I announce "Daddy WORK and Bopee WORK". While they were working Yaya, Aunt Lindsay and I went to the zoo. Uncle Dylan comes over every night now while they are visiting and I give him hugs and kisses and high fives. Not all at once! It is nice to have Aunt Lindsay over each day too, what a treat! Also I visited my old nursery school and saw Jenny. Mommy explained that we were going where I was when I was a baby and sure enough they still had my picture up in the infant room. I warmed right up to Jenny and gave her hugs and kisses. I hadn't  seen her in 6 months! It really made her day and I will go back soon to visit again.

Learning my colors and testing Daddy's patience.

YaYa and Beeba have just arrived for their visit! But more on that later....Daddy and I have been practicing for months now learning our colors. He gives me a color and I put the card in the right pile. I am a pro now at colors. Purple was one of the first ones I got, but now I know white, red, green, blue, and yellow and sometimes orange. You may also notice the block tower that Daddy built. He is very good at building towers with blocks and he spends a lot of time making them. They are so tall and vulnerable looking. He looks at me sternly and says "Do not touch, this is Daddy's tower". And I am supposed to play with different blocks and leave his alone. But I just can't. I can't. I can't. I try hard for a few seconds but that is the longest I can last before I just have to knock them over. Daddy gets really mad, not even this is kindof funny mad, but actually mad. I got a time out for not listening. Speaking of time outs, I have been getting quite a few of them lately. For coloring on Jack or standing on Jack or coloring on the floor or hitting or biting....I have found lots of ways to earn a time out. I kind of like it. When I hit I immediately know that I did something naughty so I say  "SIT?" and then I run to my spot. Then Mommy explains why I am there and at the end I say "Soweey" and I give a hug. Mommy and Daddy discovered I was enjoying time out a bit too much so the last time I was put up in my crib instead. And MAN did I not like that one bit and I screamed the whole time. Mommy and Daddy seemed satisfied.

One in each hand....

Daddy does a good job balancing everything between Mommy and work and us. With everything going on he always makes time for me and we play "Boo" and read stories and he lets me help him organize his tools and water the lawn and he throws me up in the air and tickles me and he supplies me with an endless supply of waffles. I love Daddy.

Bonding

I just LOVE Jack in the Bumbo - which I call bum bum. He is my little audience and I have so much to teach him about being a little brother. So far he seems to really be getting the hang of laughing at my jokes. I wonder if we will have a special language someday that only we will understand. That would be cool.

Allow me to introduce myself....

Claire has been dominating the air space a little bit but she has honored me with the privilege to blog about myself today. It seems only fair that I get a word in once and a while. Mommy went back to work so I have been enjoying nursery school. It is a big change for me because I am used to people rocking me and cuddling me and taking long leisurely naps in my swing. But at school they put me in a crib to nap. It is very firm and lacks a vibrating button and it doesn't rock. I am sure I will adapt, but for now I am taking brief naps. Mommy is happy though because I am so wiped by the end of the day that I have started sleeping through the night. 7 to 7. Also there are so many toys there that I play a lot more and take in the sights and sounds. There are several other babies in the room with me - some are crawling and some are even walking! But I am the cutest one in there and the teachers tell Mommy all the time how much they love me and could hold me all day....When Mommy comes to get me she carries me into Claire's room full of toddlers. And it is scary in there! The toddlers see me and start chanting "BABY" and recklessly descend on us like hungry Godzillas and Mommy has to hold me tight as they start grabbing at my dangling feet! In addition to embarking on my adventures in school I have also started to sit up by myself in my Bumbo seat. It is like my own little thrown. Claire tries to squeeze her bottom into the bumbo and she is quite large and can barely uncork herself after she has sat in it. I look quite dignified in it and Claire entertains me by performing little shows and making funny faces. It is so nice to FINALLY get her attention. She is very clever and I watch her intently and try to woo her with my smiles. I think we will make a great team someday. She still gets jealous sometimes though and it can be quite irritating. For example if Mommy is feeding me and Claire wants her - which is most of the time - she points to the swing and says "Jack Na-night" or she points to the play mat and says "Jack Down"....as if me eating for ten minutes every few hours is demanding too much. Sigh. For now though I am enjoying my status and my big sister. Don't tell her but I stay up at least an hour later than she does each night and that is when I get my special alone time with Mommy and Daddy. We have long conversations and I tell them lots of stories about my day or I just sit on Daddy's lap and watch baseball or the news. I am very worldly.

Pumpkin Patch = meh.

On Sunday I was dragged to the Pumpkin Patch. The whole way I repeatedly  expressed that I preferred to go to the playground "no punkins - WEE? WEE?" But Mommy and Daddy promised that this was more fun. It was a gorgeous fall day and I did really like seeing the baby animals...but there was a turkey there and he kind of freaked me out. But never the less it was an enjoyable outing. The playground is more fun though...just sayin.

Cute as a button...

It is getting a little ridiculous how cute Jack is. He is like a little model baby. And on top of that he is very mellow and easy going and everybody is so pleased with him all the time. Good thing I am cute AND clever AND charming AND entertaining..... Mommy goes back to work on Monday and Jack will begin coming to school with me each day. But he will be in the baby room. I may visit him sometimes during the day, but I also may be too busy doing big girl things so he shouldn't count on it.

Aunt Lindsay made his beautiful hat - and he has a scarf that matches. She is so talented!

My new Arts & Crafts table.

Mommy checked out the new IKEA that just came to Denver. And can you believe it - this table and chairs was just $20?!?! That is great because I have already colored all over the table and chairs. Mommy keeps saying "only color on the paper" and I keep hearing "color on the paper and the chairs and the table and the floor and other chairs and more floor". My creative talents have earned me quite a few time outs....but I was just trying to brighten things up a bit, the floor and walls were looking a bit drab. :)

Jack's first trip to the ocean!

Jack and Mommy left for Lewes, DE for cousin Liz's wedding. We wish we could have all gone, but it was nice for Mommy to go just with Jack, it made traveling a cinch. Jack slept from the time he left our house until he landed in Baltimore! And since Mommy had him in the carrier almost the whole weekend he barely ever cried and was a very happy baby!! He got to meet all of Mommy's family and he met his God Daddy. I still haven't seen the ocean but I am going this Christmas. The funniest part of their travel experience was that Mommy put Jack in the bathroom to sleep so that he wouldn't wake up from the sunlight. He slept on blankets in the shower. That's so silly.

So I can't say the "TR" sound - what's so funny??!?!

Aunt Mollie's Visit

Aunt Mollie came to visit for a whole week! It was so great to see her. My stranger anxiety is really starting to fade. The first morning I saw Mollie I gave her a hug and a kiss before I left for school and it was all uphill from there. We read lots of stories and took walks and Mollie always tried to include me in her cooking. The best part about Mollie was how many times we went to the playground together. I think I went 4 times in one week which must be a record. Ever since Mollie left I say "Mollie Bye Bye". I miss her.

My little brother Jack

I am starting to really grow fond of baby Jack. Yesterday I looked at pictures of when I was a baby and I was able to tell the difference between "Baby Claire" and "Baby Jack". I say "Hi Jack" when I see him and wave, but he never waves back - rude! And when I list who lives in my "home" I have decided to include him because there is no sign of him leaving. I help Mommy change his diaper by holding the diaper until she is ready for it and he leaves his blankets all over the place so I bring them to him and when I see his bottle I say "Jack's Wawa". I dont remeber using a paci or a bottle and I have no interest in regressing and using them again because I am a big girl!

Playing in the sprinkler

As some of you know, Daddy is a little obsessed with the lawn and keeping the grass green. We run our sprinklers a lot and sometimes we use the hose to give special attention to brown spots. Last night I helped Daddy hold the hose. Mommy was holding Jack so she didn't get any pictures but I will help again soon. It was fun to hold the hose and water the grass and the plants. I like to be a good helper.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Boy oh boy do I LOVE my weekends with Mommy & Daddy. On Friday Mommy strollered all the way to daycare with Jack to pick me up and we strollered all the way home. It was a great way to kick off the weekend.

My new obsession is the playground. I call it "weeee" - appropriately named for the sound I make when I go down the slides. Now when Mommy and Daddy pick me up from daycare I say "no home. no home. wee? wee?" I just love being at the playground and could stay all day. In fact, when I am told it is time to go I get very steamed and can make quite the spectacle. The best way to get me to leave without creating a scene is to promise me a yummy snack when I get home. I refer to all meals and snacks as "yummies".

This weekend Mommy took me to the playground and I am so daring and brave that before Mommy could stop me I flew down the slide head first. It was terrific! I tried to do it again but Mommy told me I had to go down feet first on my bottom. Boooooooring.

When I got home Daddy took me to the book store so I could play with the choo choo trains and he bought me a tea set. That afternoon Daddy went to work and Jack was a good baby and slept quietly so Mommy and I could play. We played outside for hours! I drove in my car to get "coffee" for Mommy, I played with my tea set, I went on walks and picked up rocks, I colored on the cement, I scolded the bees and told them
OUT OUT" even though they are out...then on Sunday Daddy and I had my first swim lesson!! I practiced kicking and blowing bubbles and laying on my back. But I hated laying on my back so I pretty much just watched other kids try it.

To update you on all my stats: I am 26 lbs now and 32 inches tall. My canine teeth are coming in. I love to "brush" my teeth, i.e. suck on my toothbrush, I stroller around my baby and my new dolly Abby and am very affectionate with them. I still love trucks and choo choo trains and when I say truck it unfortunately sounds a lot like something else. I am a super climber and a super eater and I am putting together more and more words: "night night" "love you" "yellow sun" "bye bye Daddy" "Claire's ice water" and on and on. Every day it seems that I have more and more words and it is hard to keep track!

Working Out

Jack still doesn't like to be by himself for very long. He better start working on that because otherwise Mommy doesn't have her hands free for ME! But for a few minutes Jack is content on his mat looking at his animals.

Drifting

Jack has a hard time sleeping when I get home from school....he tries to nap in the swing but I am running circles around him and sometimes I grab the swing suddenly and jolt him out of his peaceful slumber just to remind him that this is MY house! So after I go to sleep he gets some much needed comfort and attention from Mommy & Daddy. I bet that is his favorite time of the day.

Class Act

I use a spoon or a fork with each of my meals now like a young lady. Utensils has really opened up my food world to include cereal and milk, apple sauce, yogurt......the challenge is finding my mouth as you can see.

The Barby Whisperer

Last week Mommy's Aunt Barby came for a visit. Barby had heard all about me...how I am shy and do not like new people, how I cry at the sight of them...but there is something about Barby. When I got home from school I could tell right away that she was somebody special. Not only did I not cry, but after only an hour of knowing her I walked over to her and said "UP" and I reached my arms up high. She picked my up right away and Mommy said "hell has frozen over" and she snapped a picture right away to make sure we had documentation. Pretty soon I was jumping into Barby's arms and really enjoyed spending time with her. It helped that Barby brought me the cutest dolly named "Abby" and Abby goes everywhere with me now.

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend was the first weekend where it actually started to feel like fall! It was cold enough to wear tights and a sweatshirt! I had such a wonderful long weekend. On Saturday Daddy and I went to the indoor pool and I went down the slides and hung with Daddy in the hot tub. In the afternoon Lindsay came over. I was so excited to see her after my nap. When Mommy was putting me down for my nap I didn't want to go to sleep and I said NO, but after Mommy explained how when I woke up Lindsay would be over to play with me, I walked over to my crib and said UP! Lindsay and I played all afternoon. On Sunday Mommy, Daddy, Jack and I all went to the zoo. I ran the whole way! I saw giraffes, and a baby sea lion, and a tiger and a baby flamingo and peacocks and tractors! I also rode the choo choo train with Daddy. I like choo choo trains. After the zoo I as very tired from all my running. In the afternoon we just hung out as a family around the house and mommy made me a fun necklace out of beads. On Monday Daddy took the morning off and he and I went to the indoor play area to go "weeeee" down the slides. In the afternoon Daddy went to work and Mommy, Jack & I all strollered over to the playground for more "weeeee". I am a super daredevil and I went down the slide head first. But Mommy did not approve and told me I can only slide down feet first on my bottom. NO FUN!!!! I also refused to take a nap on Monday. I stayed up for 2 whole hours in my crib and I clapped and cheered myself on and congratulated myself for being stubborn and independent. Tomorrow back to school!!

Exhausted!

Jack just does not sleep for very long in the crib, or in the swing, or in the vibrating chair.....but lucky for Mommy he sleeps VERY well if she is carrying him in the ergo or if he is sleeping next to her or on her.....although Mommy would like her space and would sleep better without a baby on top of her, sometimes you have to take what you can get!

Plumping Up!

Jack in growing into a little piglet! He has just past his six week mark and is beginning to discover the world around him as it comes into focus. Some days his halo shines bright and other days his demon horns come out. But we love him just the same - especially since he has started gong to sleep as early as 7:30. Mommy and Daddy get some much needed down time.

JOY!

I just LOVE to play outside. Can you tell? I draw with chalk, I paint with water, I wipe water on my neck to cool myself down, and boy does it feel nice!!! I climb everything!!! I am getting so big, I can run fast and communicate so much better these days. Sure I throw tantrums and say NO NO NO and kick and scream, but, I also sing and dance and clap my hands, I wave and push my baby in her stroller, I get in my car and go on coffee runs for Daddy, I read stories to myself and play with my animals. My vocabulary is hard to keep track of at this point. I say so many words and am starting to put as many as 3 together. "Claire's ice water", "Bye Bye Daddy". This is a beautiful time in my life as I am learning faster than ever.

Sisterly Love

Jack doesn't get very many kisses from me yet. I love him and feel protective over him, but I am still not sure if I want to kiss him or pinch him. I get real close and mommy holds her breath waiting to see which way I am going to go. This time I kissed him....but I like to keep them guessing.

Halo or Horns?

Jack is a very cute Baby....BUT...he went from being very angelic and sleepy and never crying to being SUPER fussy. As the day goes on he gets sadder and sadder and I think his belly is bothering him. Mommy hopes he gets bigger soon so he can cope better. He is too little to play with so I am looking forward to him getting bigger too. Luckily his crying doesn't really bother me. And by being difficult he only highlights how fabulous I am. :)

The Potty!

I know what you are thinking, that I am a child genius and already peeing and pooing in the potty and wiping my own bottom....NOPE! But I do have a potty and I know it is in fact a potty. And I am starting to tell Mommy and Daddy when I pee in my diaper. I "Beep Beep" and touch my diaper to tell them. A couple times Daddy has gotten me naked and I have peed on my leg and that really freaks me out. Basically I am just becoming familiar with the terms and the potty and starting to read stories. When I am ready I will let them know.

Party? No thanks.

Today was Chris and Erin's Engagement Party. Mommy and Daddy and Jack and I all went. Jack slept the whole time in his stroller and Mommy was so excited to get out of the house for the first time and be social. But SORRY, I didn't feel like being social. In fact I refused to go near the people and their party. Lucky for me there was a playground there so I just played on the slides and with the rocks the entire time and Aunt Lindsay kept me company. At one point is started pouring rain and we hid under the slides with our BBQ and waited it out. Soon the sun came out but we were wet. When we got home Mommy and I took a bath to warm up and Daddy tricked me into going to sleep at 5:30pm instead of 6:30pm!!!! I can't believe I let him get away with that! I must learn how to tell time soon.

Cheeks

Jack is less than four weeks old and is changing SO much. For the first couple weeks we never heard him make a peep. eat. sleep. eat. sleep. Now he is starting to find his voice...it must have been lost inside those cheeks.

The Window Seat

Ever since Mommy has been staying home from work with Jack Daddy brings me to school and picks me up. He does such a great job with me. He gets me up early and we sit and eat breakfast together and listen to music. Then he gets me dressed in the outfit that Mommy laid out the night before. Then we brush our teeth together before we get in the car for the short ride to school. He also picks me up most every day. On the rare occasion that I am home before him I cant wait until he does get home to play with me! I wait with Mommy in the window seat to see his truck come around the corner. When Daddy gets home he throws me up in the air and swings me all around and we play hide and seek and I giggle like crazy! Then when we are both tired and giggled out he takes me upstairs for stories. Two peas in a pod.

Teeny Tiny Toes

Look at cute little Jack! I still can't believe I am a big sister and that someday soon Jack and I will be best buddies.

Jack's first ride in the swing

Jack has the same swing that I had when I was a baby. I loved the swing and used to take very long naps in it because my eyes couldn't stay open with all that rocking. When Jack  isn't sleeping in the swing I like to put MY baby in there because she likes it too.

Spoons & Forks!

Nana thinks I am ready to be civilized, so since she is visiting I am eating out of bowls instead of off my tray and using spoons and forks. I am better then anybody realized and I appreciate that she believes in my talents. If she hadn't visited I am sure I would be eating with my hands for weeks to come! Every time Nana comes she helps me grow up a little bit more.

Family Pictures

Today Nana tried to get some nice family photos but I just did NOT feel like cooperating. Usually I like the camera and ham it up, but no no no - not today! I refused to smile, you just can't make me. I was grumpy and I let them know it. And Jack better sleep with one eye open - I am not sure I like him one bit!

Mommy & Daddy's Anniversary

Today is August 2, Mommy and Daddy's 3 year anniversary! I can't believe that in 3 years they have had me AND Jack. They are so lucky. In these photos I am waiting for daddy to come home and then Nana is going to watch me so he and Mommy can go out to dinner and celebrate. The next day I found out that Mommy and Daddy parked the car at the restaurant and when the approached the restaurant doors they realized something was missing: JACK! He was so quiet sleeping in the backseat that they completely forgot he existed and they rushed back to get him. Whoops! I have never let them forget that I existed. I make my presence known always.

Nana's here!

Since Mommy has to give so much time to Baby Jack, Nana came to play with me. We play london bridges and every day Nana goes shopping and buys me new toys...puzzles, arts and crafts, and lots of books with game ideas. Nana lays awake at night stressing over how to make my life better. I am lucky she loves me so much!

Inspecting the new arrival

I visited Mommy in the hospital where she was staying with a baby, and for some reason she brought it home with her. They tell me I am a big sister and ask me to kiss him all the time. I am not sure what I think about all of this. I hope he knows that this house is mine and all the toys in it are mine and Mommy and Daddy are MINE!

Jack's newborn photos

On Sunday a photographer came and took pictures of Jack. I was not comfortable with the photographer so Daddy took me to Aunt Lindsay's to play. She took some very nice photos of Baby Jack and was a good little model.

Jack's1st days at home

Mommy and Daddy brought Jack home and I hardly notice him at all. He sleeps all day and all night and barely ever opens his eyes. He is so good and sleeps for 3-4 hour stretches and Mommy has to wake him up sometimes to feed him. He sleeps in the laundry basket that I slept in as a baby. Mommy and Daddy are already so in love with him. I am happy that he is always asleep because Mommy and Daddy can still spend lots of time with me. Our neighbor Rebecca is so nice - she brought us all dinner to celebrate Jack's Arrival home - it was a feast and Uncle Dylan tied a balloon to our mailbox so everybody would know we are welcoming a new baby, and Chris and Dylan came over to smoke a cigar with Daddy.

I am a BIG SISTER!!

I became a Big Sister today! John Henry Ewald - who we will call Jack - was born at 2:20 am on July 19th. He is 6lbs 15oz and 18.5in long. He is much smaller than I was but he was born 2 weeks early so maybe that is why. Yesterday was very hot and Mommy was conducting interviews all day so she did a LOT of walking between campuses and wonders if maybe that is partly why she went into labor.

Last night Mommy went to sleep and at 1:10am she woke up to go pee and then her water broke while she was on the potty. That made her confused and she wasn't sure if her water broke for sure so she woke Daddy up just to warn him. She knew that within a few minutes she would start having painful contractions if it was the real deal and sure enough those contractions began! Mommy rushed around packing the hospital bag and she called the midwives to let them know she would be on her way to the hospital soon while Daddy tried to call Aunt Lindsay lots of times but she never answered. Luckily Uncle Dylan answered and soon they both came over so that I could keep sleeping and Mommy and Daddy could leave for the hospital. By the time they arrived Mommy was having very painful contractions and was desparate to leave for the hospital and she had visions of the epidural needle dancing around her head. But Daddy, in his rush to pack the car, had misplaced the keys and Mommy nearly had a panic attack while everybody rushed around looking for them. Silly Daddy had left them on the roof of the car, and finally in less than an hour they were on their way to the hospital.

Mommy's contractions were hurting her so she tried her best to remember to breathe so she wouldn't hyperventalate the way she did when she was in labor with me. About half way to the hospital a very surprising thing happend: Mommy began to PUSH with each contraction. She and Daddy were very freaked out by this. All at once Mommy realized that she was not going to be able to have an epidural and she felt a lot of panic. Daddy asked Mommy if she wanted him to stop and pull over because there was a police car nearby, but Mommy urged him to keep driving and Daddy sped along as fast as he could. As she pushed she was shocked to feel that Jack may actually be making his entrance, and on the 5th contraction of pushing she reached down and pulled Jack out and onto her chest! Daddy whipped to the side of the road and looked at his new son. Holy Moly! The hospital was in view so as soon as Jack started crying and they could see he was okay they were on their way again. Daddy was driving super fast and they missed the first entrance to the ER, so they looped around and zoomed through the hospital parking lot and pulled up to the doorway. Because Daddy had pulled up so crazily a bicicle cop was on his tail and greeted him as he bounded out of the car. But as soon as Daddy explained that they had a baby in the car, the policeman understood his hurry. Pretty soon several doctors descended on the car and they clamped the cord and Daddy was able to cut it before the rushed Jack away to check him out. Lucky for everybody, Jack was in perfect shape and everybody's worries began to fade.

After having some time to process Mommy was really happy about how Jack arrived. She never ever would have given herself a chance to go through natural childbirth and she felt privilaged to have experienced it, especially so quickly! Also recovery was much easier than with me. Within a few hours she was answering work emails and on the phone like nothing had ever happened!

Because Jack was born outside of the hospital she had to stay for 3 full days and nights at the hospital. Aunt Lindsay took good care of me and Daddy came home too. I visited Mommy and Jack at the hospital and was really happy to see her. She was getting really bored at the hospital but she was happy to have me visit. Jamie, Caitlin, and Vicki all visited her too.

Another fun-filled summer weekend!

It was so super duper HOT this weekend. Mommy took me to the playground at 7am because that was the only bearable time to be out in the sun! Then on Sunday afternoon me, Mommy & Daddy all went for a swim in Aunt Lindsay's pool!

Mommy's Birthday, July 4th and Nana's Visit!

Nana came the day before Mommy's birthday. She turns 30 this year! Nana was sweet and bought her 6 massages and Daddy got her a really nice watch and her and Daddy had a date night in Boulder at a yummy Italian restaurant. While Nana was visiting we went to the Zoo and the pool and the indoor play area and we blew bubbles and played outside with chalk and I got 2 new pairs of shoes! Mommy is so pregnant now that she gets really tired when she carries me all around so it is nice to have Nana here to get a bit of a break!

It is HOT outside!

This summer has been so HOT!! Lucky for us our back yard is shady anmd about 10 degrees cooler than being in the sun. We got a pool so we can stay cool and stil play outside. Mommy imagined that we would relax in the pool but I make her work hard even when we are in the pool. I take all my toys and throw them IN the pool. Then I say "UP" and Mommy lifts me in, then I throw all my toys OUT of the pool and say "UP" to get out. It is great fun!

Lucy Dog!

Lucy - who I call "CeeCee" is so tolorant of me. Sometimes she lets me roll all over her and steal her ball...eventually she gets fed up with me and goes and finds a peaceful place to lie down. She loves me though and I love her. When Mommy takes us on walks I help Mommy hold the leash and the best part about CeeCee is that she cleans up all the crumbs I drop on the floor.

Happy to be back in Colorado

After such a long visit on the East Coast it is nice to be home - espescially now that summer has begun. Mommy and Daddy took me to Pearl Street and I walked the whole time. Now that I can walk and run and climb I have started to dislike the stroller. I dont want to sit when I can use my own two feet!!

Play Time!

My weekends are basically filled with food, naps, baths and playtime! As you can see I can give out kisses now and I know how to high five and play peek a boo and patty cake, but I am very choosy about who I give kisses to.
